Bia³owie¿a Primaeval Forest (Puszcza Bia³owieska) is an ancient forest divided into two areas - one is a part of Belarus and the second – a part of Poland. It is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the immense primeval forest of Europe. It has a status of UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the Polish side it is partly protected as Bia³owieski Park Narodowy (Bia³owie¿a National Park). Bia³owie¿a Primaeval Forest in numbers: 150 582 ha – the area of the whole Bia³owie¿a Primeval Forest 87 363 ha (59%) - the area of the Primeval Forest in Belarus 62 219 ha (41%) - the area of the Primeval Forest in Poland 10 501,95 ha – the area of the Bia³owie¿a National Park 3 445,76 ha – the area of the 20 wildlife reserve outside the Bia³owie¿a National Park ca 157 km2 – the strictly protected area of the Primeval Forest in Belarus ca 48 km2 - the strictly protected area of the Primeval Forest in Poland
